The NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) launched on 29th October 2019 as an Advanced Service. The service, which replaced the NUMSAS and DMIRS pilots, connects patients who have a minor illness or need an urgent supply of a medicine with a community pharmacy.

If you have out of date or unwanted medicines, both prescription or over the counter drugs, don’t bin them or flush them. Your unwanted or out of date medicines can be collected by a driver from your doorstep for safe disposal and it’s completely FREE. Each year enormous quantities of unused and expired medications are dumped into bins or flushed down toilets and sinks. The effects on the environment and human health are unclear but evidence is pointing to the presence of chemicals from prescriptions and over-the-counter medications in soil, drinking water and the surrounding environment. Just as proper medication administration is important, so is safe and cautious disposal.

We are able to obtain your prescriptions electronically without the need for a paper copy. Simply ask your GP Surgery to nominate our pharmacy in order for your prescriptions to be transferred to us automatically.

The pharmacist and our trained assistants are available for advice on all medicines and minor ailments, in private over video consultation, if required . We can also give you advice on how to live a healthy life, for example, advice on how to stop smoking, or healthy diets. We can direct you to other sources of advice and assistance if we cannot help you ourselves.

We keep a wide range of over the counter medicines and vitamins and mineral supplements.

We dispense NHS prescriptions and will give advice on how to get the most benefit from your medicines. We keep a comprehensive stock of medicines and use a fast and an efficient wholesaler service to enable us to fill all prescriptions promptly. For patients in England who do not have a valid exemption or pre-payment certificate, the NHS prescription charge is currently £9.65 per item.

We dispense private prescriptions issued by your Doctor, Dentist and Veterinary Surgeon. We offer competitive pricing on all private prescription medication.

We provide advice to increase your knowledge, awareness and understanding on leading healthier lifestyles so as to improve your health. In cases where we cannot provide a particular advice, service or treatment, we will ensure that you are appropriately signposted to other healthcare and social services.

We can collect your prescription from selected local surgeries and have it ready for prompt delivery.
